Sustainable design

For the sake of our future, and to meet current and future building regulations, and government targets for sustainability, all new building works have to show that they meet minimum standards of energy conservation and help to reduce carbon emissions in manufacture of materials and in use.

We have built an enviable reputation for the successful application of low-carbon materials - lime, sheep's wool, sustainable timber, natural stone and slate - and renewable energy sources - solar and ground heat. Our design skills also make the most of natural sunlight and positioning to minimise

energy use, and to maximise comfort and utility

We have won awards from Carmarthenshire County Council for sustainable design, and we have featured on television programmes including Grand Designs and Grass Roots.
